Characterization of Unconventional Reservoirs: Shales (CUR-S)

Bruno Armando López Jiménez, Víctor Leonardo Teja Juárez

Petrophysical evaluation and numerical simulation of unconventional reservoirs such as shales with a special interest in those located in Mexico, which are analyzed to evaluate their potential as additional hydrocarbon resources, which can be used to satisfy the current and future national energy demand, and also to change the slope of production curves in Mexico from negative to positive.

Modeling of Complex Naturally Fractured Reservoirs with Novel Formulations (MCNFR-NF)

Rodolfo Gabriel Camacho Velázquez

Appropriate modeling of fluid flow within complex naturally fractured reservoirs on the basis of the following formulations: i) triple porosity – dual permeability (matrix, fractures, and vugs), and ii) anomalous diffusion to represent the complexity of fracture and vugular networks taking into account non-uniform distribution of fractures, without a complete connection among them and at different scales.
