Engineer Paola Elizabeth Lopez Chavez, assistant manager of Logistics Maintenance and Complementary Infrastructure at PEMEX Exploration and Production, presented the keynote speech entitled "Complementary tasks, a fundamental activity for meeting the objectives of Pemex Exploration and Production."

Villahermosa Tabasco, Within the framework of the XVI edition of Mexican Petroleum Congress (CMP), Engineer Paola Elizabeth Lopez Chavez, assistant manager of Logistics Maintenance and Complementary Infrastructure at PEMEX Exploration and Production, presented the keynote speech entitled "Complementary tasks, a fundamental activity for meeting the objectives of Pemex Exploration and Production."

For this conference, the importance and scope of this type of tasks was contextualized, with the presentation of three strategic projects of great relevance for Pemex Exploration and Production.

• Segregation of Currents from the Yaxche-Xanab Fields and SPRMSO and new oil fields SPRMSO

Through the activities of separating the flow of hydrocarbons from the 20"Ø Oil Pipeline of Tlacame-A (Submarine), Installation of Header on deck in the Yaxché-A Platform and installation and Interconnection of the Remote Separator FA-3101A in the TMDB.

• Exploitation of Gas in the SPRMNE

• Installation of Monobuoy 2 in Cayo Arcas SCOC.

Subdirectorate of Maintenance, Logistics and Complementary Infrastructure, headed by Ing. Paola Elizabeth Lopez Chavez, these regions contribute about 75% of National Oil production.

"In order to maximize and optimize our production, the complementary tasks have become more relevant, as they are actions that provide solutions to production problems in the short and medium term." Eng. Paola affirmed during her exposition.

Strategies have been established within the sub-directorate to comply in a timely and efficient manner with the requirements of our user areas, as well as with the commitments with the General Directorate of PEMEX, such as:

• Reduced execution times.

• Simultaneous execution of complementary tasks

• Close supervision and direct coordination for these works.

• Early procurement of equipment and materials.

•Reuse of existing infrastructure

•Integral coordination for execution of the project between the staff of the Subdirectorates of Production and the SMLIC.

These strategies have been implemented to solve problems detected, derived from the exploitation of our oil fields, such as:

“The execution of complementary tasks has gained greater relevance to such an extent that today it is considered as a specific term within the organic statute of PEMEX Exploration and Production, and likewise being part of the objective of a Subdirectorate within the company.

The complementary tasks allow maximizing and optimizing the production of hydrocarbons in the short and medium term by incorporating early production of hydrocarbons, as well as providing flexibility and optimization of the resource by taking advantage of the existing infrastructure, savings of around 20% by using equipment existing.

Reuse equipment by submitting it to the corresponding mechanical integrity analysis and, where appropriate, reconfigure its operation, shortening execution times and reducing project costs”

In this way, Ing. Paola Lopez concluded her participation and keynote speech during the XVI edition of Mexican Petroleum Congress (CMP) held in Villahermosa Tabasco. Forum for transmission of technical, scientific and technological knowledge, the most important event in the oil and gas industry in Mexico and Latin America.
