The students Jacqueline Gallardo Flores and Raul Garcia Martinez, students of the Oil Engineering career, are part of the six scholarship holders of the ExxonMovil program for Research 2019 - 2020
During the 2020-1 semester, the company ExxonMobil launched the call for the ExxonMobil Scholarship for Research 2019-2020, whose objective is to support UNAM undergraduate students for the completion of their undergraduate studies through a financial support that allows them to carry out the research of their written degree work (thesis).
Last Wednesday, February 5th of this year, ExxonMobil granted the above mentioned scholarship to 6 undergraduate students of the Engineering and Science Faculties. From the Faculty of Engineering, 2 students of the Petroleum Engineering career were awarded with this scholarship: Ms. Jacqueline Gallardo Flores, and Mr. Raul Garcia Martinez. These students are currently studying the 10th semester of the career, as well as developing their thesis work.
The award ceremony took place in the Exhibition Hall of the Engineering Tower, attended by the family members of each of the winners as well as invited professors. During the ceremony, it was made known to each one of the scholarship holders that this distinction not only includes economic support but also an integral training consisting of English workshops, mentorship/tutoring by ExxonMobil company staff, workshops for the elaboration of Curriculum Vitae (CV), as well as a guided visit to the facilities of the ExxonMobil Research Center located in Houston, Texas, United States of America (USA).
The Institute of International Education (IIE) in conjunction with ExxonMobil selected the scholars based on their academic performance, research relevance, social work, skills and abilities.
The thesis topics of each of the Petroleum Engineering students are
Miss. Jacqueline Gallardo Flores: "Methodology for Numerical Modeling of Naturally Fractured Vugular Reservoirs (YNFV's) Using CMG and its Calibration from Analytical Solutions".
Mr. Raúl García Martínez: "Design of a Pilot Test for the Evaluation of Water Control Technology with PPGs, through the Disproportionate Change of Relative Permeability in YNF".
